How does the Tesla Powerwall work?
Tesla Powerwall utilises a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, storing electricity to be used when needed in the event of a grid failure and also providing solar power overnight.
How much energy can a Tesla Powerwall store?
Tesla Powerwall can store up to 13.5kWh of energy – that’s enough to supply a typical home’s power usage for a whole day or more.
How will a Tesla Powerwall keep me safe from power cuts?
You decide what percentage of the battery is reserved for protection against grid failure, and this percentage is always held in reserve until a power cut. The remaining percentage of the battery is available for solar power to be used overnight.
Is having a Tesla Powerwall high maintenance?
The beauty of the Powerwall is that it requires no maintenance – the fully automatic system means there’s no need for you to monitor it. Tesla closely monitors batteries to catch failures before they happen.
